Leadership in Industry 4.0

Leadership in Industry 4.0
Context : As you are aware, Industry 4.0 is creating 'Smart Factories' leveraging on current trends of automation and data exchange in manufacturing technologies. It includes cyber-physical systems, IoT (Internet of Things), Cloud Computing and Cognitive Computing. Pune, with its large manufacturing base as well as its strength in the domain of IT/Automation, is best placed to discuss and deliberate on Industry 4.0

"Digital is the main reason, just over half the companies on the Fortune 500 have disappeared since the year 2000"- Pierre Nanterme

The highlight of the conference will be on how companies are adopting the challenges and opportunities provided by the advent of Industry 4.0. How Industry 4.0 is shaping the firm and the eco-system. Are we ready for Industry 4.0? Industry 4.0 has it really arrived?

While we have focus on the evolving leadership in manufacturing world, we will also dedicate a session to hear the young and bright CxOS/Founders of the Digital StartUp world who are shaping the industry eco-system, both directly and indirectly.

Academia plays a very important role in nurturing talent and developing leadership that is ready for the emerging paradigms, for the evolving industry i.e. Industry 4.0 In this conference we have also organized a panel discussion that is dedicated to 'Developing Leadership for Industry 4.0' This panel discussion will focus on how the academia is prepared and is further preparing to support the industry for smoother transition to this new emerging world of 'Cyber Systems'.

And as Jamshedji Tata said, "In a free enterprise, the community is not just another stakeholder in business, but in fact the very purpose of its existence",

We also have a session dedicated on how the 'Leadership' outside the industry, in the community is evolving in this digital world and what lessons could we take from world outside the industry.

A day long conference organized on the theme of Industry 4.0 will bring best of the practitioners from manufacturing, digital, academic and community domains to give the attendees a set of perspectives that helps in better understanding the transitions we all are going through and what it means for the leadership at all levels, from the manager on the shop floor to the Chairman in the boardroom.
